I have neglected the blog lately. It’s not that I haven’t been eating fabulously, it’s just that in the frenzy of my regular life, I haven’t had time to post. But the longer it goes between posts, the harder it is for me to get something up. And seeing as I’m in the home stretch before I go to Japan, I should be training to post fast and furiously because I have planned 2 weeks of amazing food adventures.
Recently, I’ve started using Instagram to photograph the deliciousness in my life. I know that everyday, I consume something that is photo worthy, so this project of mine is just a way to document it.
Tuesday – the start of my work week and too busy for a lunch adventure so I went for a quick bite at Little Nest. I always feel like I need to have a kid in tow when I go for food there, but whenever I do go, I realize that the food’s too good to dismiss as a lunch time option.

Wednesday – a 12 hour work day calls for a special lunch treat. On my way to a meeting, I stopped at Suika for my favourite indulgent lunch.

Thursday – my hump day, and it really felt like it. But just when I thought it was going to be one of “those days”, one of my thoughtful coworkers hand delivered to my desk, this tasty snack (thanks Hai)!

The waffles were great, but not enough to tide me over on a rainy, miserable Vancouver day.

Friday – When you work a Tuesday-Saturday work week, Fridays still feel like the end of the week, even though in the back of my mind I know I have 1 more day of work to go. I really felt like a salad and soup from Nelson the Seagull, but they were out of soup, so I ended up devouring most of a pizza at Nicli.

Saturday – it seems like there are so many new places opening in Chinatown/Railtown/Gastown and it felt like time to try something new. East of Main was first on my list of new places to try for lunch, so I decided to give it a go.

With my work week done and a week of eating behind me, I was excited to spend my evening at my most anticipated Canucks game of the season. Canucks vs Kings on a Hockey Night in Canada. Nothing beats the energy of a Saturday game, and to top it off… Canucks win!
